As our UK firefighters can tell you, being operationally ready can quite literally mean the difference between life or death. Fire can kill in minutes, so we at Aluminium Marine Consultants aim to fabricate the best performing, most reliable, safest, and ultimately most crew-friendly fire boats and rescue vessels available - and with our leading naval architects, Aluminium Marine Consultants emergency responder craft (Fire Boat, Patrol Boat, Utility Boat) can be trusted to help save lives in both river and sea emergencies.
Aluminium Marine Consultants and Walker Marine Design recently launched a new generation of Fire Boats (fi-fi's) which have been designed and built to the highest specification to undertake multiple roles, and along with our vast history in shipbuilding, we are sure to meet your vessels requirements and minimize the hazards in modern-day marine fire-fighting and fire rescue.
Aluminium Marine Consultants state-of-the-art fire boat range offers a diverse array of configurations in both monohull and catamaran. All water rescue vessels have proven sea capabilities/hull design with the propulsion type to suit your craft requirements. The craft also has the option of water jets, conventional propellers, Voith Linear jets and hybrid propulsion, with firefighting performance to meet the risk of the individual operators. This allows the range of vessels to offer high-performance for any marine-based emergencies and which can be supplied to type and classification approval, meeting NFPA 1925 and DNV Fi-Fi regulations.
For operator versatility and flexibility, the 16 Metre to 23-Metre vessel has the option to be supplied with a system of demountable containers called PODs. The PODs can be built in many configurations, from open flatbed to a four-sided container, with canvas sides or multiple doors. The roles that the PODs can carry out can be suited to meet the necessary risk needs assessment and include functionalities such as drone operations, search and rescue and breathing apparatus support.
Built at AMC’s Shipyard in Cowes, Isle of Wight (UK), the 'Barracuda' fire boat is the first build of a new generation of fire boats which has been specifically designed and built to respond at high speed. Built for Angloco Ltd and supplied to the Guyana Fire and Rescue Service, Barracuda is the first completed fire boat build in AMC’s new fire fighting line and is in working operation on the Demerara River.
The 14m fire boat delivers a speed of up to 32 knots, requiring a 1.5 Meter draft and supplies up to 4,500 Litres of water per minute from three water jets ranging up-to 120 Metres, and also carries a full set of fire-fighting equipment to tackle marine-based emergencies. The fire boat has been commissioned to protect a 10-mile stretch of the river against fires on a route that is host to large commercial activity including industrial and food import/export, and the storage of petroleum products. It will also carry out search and rescue missions and is equipped with accommodation for two stretchers in case of medical evacuations.
